Its lo-fi spontaneity is as close as we've gotten to the group's early videos, and it looks like the most fun you could have on any given day. They interrupt each other, bust each other's balls, play hypeman for each other, and laugh and smile a hell of a lot. "Oldie" video: While at a Terry Richardson photo shoot, the entire Wolf Gang stages an impromptu video, reciting their verses from the album's closing track. Their insularity and aura is what draws people to them and that was wiped away by sterile video sets and CGI. Both clips try to get over on low-level shock value, but in playing up their propensity to rankle casual onlookers, the group overlooked that they became a sensation first and foremost because of their dynamic and unique chemistry. Never mind that the songs were fine, but for a crew whose visuals were as important to their meteoric rise as their music (if not more), those big-budget videos suggested Tyler and the rest of Odd Future had forgotten why they became such a big deal. 2 was the beginning of the end for the notorious gang of L.A.

Lyrically, the members have toned down the omnipresent illicit talk of their earlier work, but they remain focused on references to pop culture, current events, and Wolf Gang pride.
2, Odd Future effortlessly shifts between straight-up R&B ("White"), hyperactive Dirty South parody ("We Got B*tches," "50"), experimental electro sputtering ("Rella"), and a righteously grimy, throwback posse cut ("Oldie," featuring the return of fan favorite Earl Sweatshirt). Led by Tyler, the Creator, the group is all about shattering preconceived notions of traditional hip-hop its tracks are all over the place stylistically. Ten members deep, Odd Future has been compared to Wu-Tang Clan, but its style is far less thugged-out and way more bugged-out. Since emerging from the Los Angeles sub-underground several years ago, Odd Future has become arguably the most-blogged-about rap group ever, riding an avalanche of online hype and building a dedicated (and obsessive) global fanbase.
